About
My Story
With a varied career behind me after first graduating in the 1980’s with a BA(Hons) in 3D-Design, I have worked as a jeweller, a shop assistant, a cartographer, a teacher and a dressmaker. I have also been a full-time mother for some of those years. In 2019, I gained an MA in Children’s Book Illustration from the renowned Cambridge School of Art, finally finding my niche in the world of illustration and a career that I hope will out live me.
I am lucky enough to live in a pretty English Village in North Hertfordshire, where I walk my dog Stanley in the local countryside everyday. Despite losing the sight in my right eye to cancer as a child, I have never allowed that to be a barrier to anything, not least my new found passion for illustration.
In both 2018 and 2019, I was a shortlisted finalist for the Stratford Literary Festival – Salayria Children’s Picture Book Prize.
